One of the most important privacy cases of the decade--Carpenter--is before the Supreme Court. The government is arguing it needs no warrant to track everywhere you go based on your phone. This violates not just the 4th Amendment, but the 1st. Here's how:https://www.aclu.org/blog/privacy-technology/surveillance-technologies/privacy-case-supreme-court-about-press-freedom-too …

A solution to Carpenter v. United States that neither leftists nor many conservatives want you to read. (1) Its underlying conception of privacy is based on our rights to property & contract. (2) It would render much of what the NSA does today illegal. https://www.theobjectivestandard.com/2017/11/the-supreme-courts-opportunity-to-legalize-privacy/ …

. the government needs to explain to the court that their law enforcement agents are using #surveillancestate technology to behave ten times more anti-American than #JEdgarHoover. #AMDG

The basis of this illogical argument is that (or like) if FBI vans can use X-ray to see you in your house covertly (they have this equipment now), then you have no expectation of any privacy in your bedroom anymore and must thus "get used to it"

Black people learned along time ago that there are no such thing as rights, were all oxen Who labor for the riches of the wealthy. You can resist as much as you want. Those who put up the biggest fight will just be assassinated. Is the fight ever really worth it?

For journalists, any threat of surveillance has chilling effect on gathering activity/can make sources think twice about talking to reporters. This harms the flow of information to the public and reporters’ ability to keep the public informed, especially about sensitive issues.
