at what point does leaking classified info with intent to sway an election at the behest of another state become "too far" in your eyes?
-
-
-
what you did was for the good of the US people, Snowden. What recent action of Wikileaks can you point to that shares that ethical thread?
-
Agree, political hacking is not whistle blowing.
-
Wikileaks is a publisher. They accept leaks from anyone who wants to be a source, they don't go around hacking stuff.
-
Working with political parties & hackers does not strive for objectivity.Which is why so many early volunteers have disassociated with them.
-
If it is just a publisher, it is vulnerable to be used for state propaganda.

Wikileaks is fine and all but Assange isn't. He still has to stand trial for rape.

I don't believe in death penalty. It's barbaric. And all criminals -- rape is a crime -- must either stand trial or settle out of court.

Hes not a journalist right? He's an information activist. Although I believe he was used as a puppet for the Russians. Release time served
-
Snowden is the head of a publishing company. They rcv info, authenticate, filter for public good and publish like any other.
-
Every country that is embarrassed by their own actions accuses Wikileaks of being secret pawns. It is no less shameful/idiotic from the U.S.
-
Key word: filter
-
Absolutely. It's shameful how U.S. government has refused to review leaked material to determine harm and then blamed Wikileaks for results
-
It's shameful how an organization devoted to "transparency" has none in how they determine which leaks to publish & who makes the decision
-
What other publisher has a transparent editorial process? That's like saying reporters should publish tax returns b/c presidents do.
-
But Julian is different. He is dedicated to transparency. Demands it.
