Never thought i'd see the day when Edward Snowden tweeted a Teen Vogue article!

-
why not?
@TeenVogue has been doing substantial journalism for a while now. As it turns out, teen girls are smart. -
I don't disagree at all. They have been doing awesome stuff lately. The shock is the strange world we have found ourselves :)

Who the hell thinks Snapchat is secure???
-
No one who knows what they're talking about, but their marketing gimmick is deleting messages.
-
I think it's hugely important to explain to people with no tech background why Snapchat isn't secure and why Signal is.
-
I don't disagree. But I don't think I've ever heard anyone speak or write of ephmerality of Snapchat as security
-
No, but the target audience for Teen Vogue isn't you, or a cryptographer. It's non-tech people who need to know.
-
Explaining E2E with a few excellent metaphors helps introduce data privacy and encryption to non-tech users.

@smartbrain if Signal was so good why Telegram has 10x more users? But seriously Snowden on "Teen Vogue" do we need to say more? -
if telegram was so good why does Line have way more users? ;)
-
only difference is telegram offered 250k USD bug bounty that NONE claimed.Hackers aren't getting that good obviously.
-
"offered 250k USD" - anyone who can do it is earning more than that annually. Why should they bother? /
@smartbrain@Snowden -
I wish that all researchers make more than 250k, reality shows that most are still struggling.
-
At this point we're not talking researchers, we're talking MIT PhDs (/eqvt) with huge compute labs. /
@smartbrain@Snowden -
enlight my binary ignorance plz http://tech.mit.edu/V134/N18/salary.html …
-
That is the salary from MIT, yes. You believe they don't ever have side jobs and/or move into industry? How very sweet of you.
