        yes, but a MBP has a powerfull processor on board, encryption would cost battery life and useability

        in a camera the camera's processor would have to do the work (Digic in Canon gear), they're just not built for that

        Native encryption of RAW files on consumer digital cameras would be a plus but it's not really solving a real problem.
