I do believe most people change the nature of what they do as they get older when it comes to such fields as this: if not move into management, then at least be more choosy in what they do and for whom. Those that have it in them I expect will teach in person or write books.

Some people just keep doing the job. Realizing that telling a computer to do things can be a job and doesn’t have to take over your entire life is pretty liberating.
