Overall, I like her, and she’s taken good care of my wife, daughter & myself. This does concern me though.

Probably don’t want to waste part of your precious 15 minutes with your PCP on this issue. It’s possible she “supports” ones she feels are harmless , without endorsing them. Like me with CBD oil and my patients

I have seen a documentary on acupuncture where the anesthesia for a brain surgery performed in China was via acupuncture. You might want to research acupuncture more.

Say you are not interested in acupuncture or alternative medicine

There is a big difference between “support/encourage/recommend acupuncture” and “tolerate your patients’ free will.” Given that you say she has treated your family appropriately, I wouldn’t be too fast to assume that she’s in the former camp. Have you asked?

Frankly some people do benefit from acupuncture. It may very well be placebo but if there is no harm and some benefit to the patient I say great. Now when a chiropractor sells my stage 4 cancer patient 500 bucks in supplements every 2 weeks I get firmly involved.....

Just wait until someone gets cancer & the hospital offers reiki... I'm a sceptic but we are animals and the comfort of touch and attention when we feel bad is a balm that modern medicine does not provide. So as long as it does no harm, is not given in the place of care, it's ok.

The risk that I see, is that once someone begins following one form of “alternative” medicine, they become more likely to follow others.
