    Finally, Cronch kicks the effects into overdrive. Even lower resolution scale, scanlines, reduced color depth, more dithering, and 30 FPS CAP. Only use this setting for blinding nostalgia.

    HD Remaster simply turns all of these effects off. We did it first as a joke to see how it would look after months of using the effects, and we were surprised how clean it looked. We decided then that players should be able to decide how they play.

    The default setting, On, does some resolution downscaling, aliasing, texture filtering, color mapping, and so on to emulate the visuals on 64-bit games. Framerate is uncapped. This is the setting we generally build with in mind.

    We've been doing a quality and functionality pass on our pause menu (no pause song yet) Check out the video setting "Nostalgia Goggles!" Which is your favorite: On, Cronch, or HD Remaster? You'll be able to change between them at any time!
