The stadium will bring with it a new community gathering place, hundreds of jobs and homes, and a Community Benefits Agreement that ensures this project works for Nashvillians at risk of being left behind. There is no reason to delay it one day longer.

At town hall update on the Community Benefits Agreement. Every day that work on the stadium is delayed, these benefits (and many, many more) are denied to Nashvillians who need them.

To think that anyone would be denied the opportunity to reach out for that child, based purely on their identity, is horrifying. A quick plug and a note of gratitude for , who reaches out.

For many children in the foster system, their idea of self-worth is completely tangled and shattered. They search for literally any stable figure to cling to, all while wondering when that person, too, will slip away and leave them to again face the storm alone.

We were foster parents for a short time, an experience that was eye-opening and too complex to describe here. But to deny any loving household willing to help a kid is not protecting "religious liberty." It's actively, consciously hurting children.

I've been thinking about the recent anti-LGBT adoption bill, how relatively little attention it got from local officials, and the casual cruelty of it all. This story mentions Trump's proposal to allow similar discrimination for foster care agencies.

Great work. When we formed the Barnes Fund we pitched to Mayor Dean a possible 4:1 ROI. This exceeds even our projections! Nashville should be proud of its nonprofit affordable housing developers!

We are continuing to discuss our definition of success, the final outstanding piece of the fund’s recent audit. Is it dollar amount? Number of units? Populations served? Working toward conclusion in Feb. meeting.
