Am I missing something or is there no way to always get @SlackHQ notifications on mobile even when the app is inactive? Our fire department is trying to move from Facebook to Slack for internal comms, but my chief can't get notifications when app is in background. No desktop.

yeah, our firefighters aren't daily computer users so most *just* have mobile. I went through his settings best I could, but as soon as he minimizes the app on ios, he is "inactive". He was seeing notis on his iWatch...would that maybe "steal" the notification?
Sorry for the frustration here — so your chief isn't receiving mobile notifications even though it's their only active instance?If they want to check if that's the case, head to Watch > Notifications > Mirror Alerts From, then toggle Slack off. Ask the chief to lock their phone, then send them a bunch of test DMs. Does that change things?
