Am I missing something or is there no way to always get @SlackHQ notifications on mobile even when the app is inactive? Our fire department is trying to move from Facebook to Slack for internal comms, but my chief can't get notifications when app is in background. No desktop.

yeah, our firefighters aren't daily computer users so most *just* have mobile. I went through his settings best I could, but as soon as he minimizes the app on ios, he is "inactive". He was seeing notis on his iWatch...would that maybe "steal" the notification?

Ah, yes, you're marked as 'away' 30 seconds after closing the mobile app. It sounds like maybe the notifications are coming in, but the chief's Watch preferences are directing them there.
