Apologies for the confusion here. You'll only see the option to select your keyboard layout if Slack can't detect the keyboard you're using.

The problem is that when I try to type a forward slash to type a command, there is this annoying search shortcuts popup. I guess my key combinaison to achieve the / is a shortcut for that in Slack. How can I disable this!?

The shortcuts menu merging with the forward slash command was a change made recently for usability and accessibility reasons. While we don't currently have a preference for disabling the feature, we'll absolutely take any and all feedback into consideration. Thanks, Frédéric!
