It's now possible to mark a thread as unread, and have it pop back into your "Threads" view. Also, when you mark a channel as as read, this won't mark threads in that channel as read. Is your request for a feature to mark threads as read too? We'd be happy to hear it if so!

Hrmm, I guess I'm not currently sure how the 'Threads screen' works. When I open it/read through, will it automatically mark those things as read? And how does it show me the point at which I 'catch up' and have seen all of the unread threads?

eg. in a channel I see the 'New' indicator. I'm able to configure things so that if I 'pop in' to a channel it won't automatically mark things read. Though it does seem that if there's only a couple of messages (that don't scroll beyond the screen), then it still marks them readpic.twitter.com/V1OuBEDb2y
