@SlackHQ how does one go about disabling the extremely annoying pop-up 'toast' notification? I dont want audible and visual notifications and no matter where I place the pop-up, it masks something I need to see/access.

To turn off both banner popups and sounds, head to Slack Preferences (CTRL + ,) and under "notify me about..." select "nothing". If you want to turn just the banner popup off, this can be done in Windows' notification settings for the Slack app.

OK I figured it out. First you need to force Slack to use Action Centre (rather than Slack itself) and then you mute the banners in Action Centre.pic.twitter.com/jfdvxNMzpX
