Thanks so much. I see that this guide points out “what’s changed” but what about someone that doesn’t even know how things in the classic apps used to work? Is there a table of difference available?

There's no table of difference available. The most important change is that all of the scopes that can now be assigned to a Bot were under the umbrella of a single bot scope, that had ample access. Please write into feedback@slack.com if you'd like more details.
