Slack at scale is a really bad manifestation of FOMO & clutter. So many channels. If you ever get added to or participate in a channel, an explicit step is required to leave it. And there is nothing that you can train it to surface what’s most important.

Yes it is a hard design problem. But I hear you have a crack design team :-) We tried partitioning things to separate workspaces. That was an ok solution but the switching between them was hard and as a result we missed important messages.

We are now trying custom sections. But that also feels just ok, because a) it’s a personal organization mechanism and b) a lot of work for each user. And so it doesn’t scale well to a team of 1,000 plus people
