@SlackHQ you guys need to do a better job with the over write function. Who actually uses this for what? Why can't it be easily turned off? SO ANNOYING.

@SlackHQ it's still a problem on Mac. I use the short Win keyboard and there is no Insert key on it, not even Fn key. Yet it still toggles the overwrite mode. Cmd+R doesn't fix it.
We're sorry for the trouble with overwrite mode. Are you using a Windows keyboard? If so, does pressing the Insert key allow you to turn it off? How about refreshing the app (Ctrl + R)?
Darn. A cache reset should fix it, in that case. Apologies for the hassle. Click "Help" in the top MacOS menu bar in the desktop app > "Troubleshooting" > "Clear cache and restart".

Oh yes! This has been driving me mad for a good while, I thought it had to do with Mac updates. Cleared the cache, let's hope that fixes it. Thanks!
