@SlackHQ please un-break slash commands. Overloading "/" key with some UI feature is a terrible user experience, let text be text
Thanks for reaching out! We've merged the Slash Command and Shortcut menus into one dynamic menu accessible via the / shortcut to make Shortcuts easier to use and Slash Commands more intuitive to search. If this change isn't working for you, we'd love to hear how we can improve!

It was working just fine as it was. Much like the change to add pictures to the sidebar, these 'improvements' (that come without any option) are making things worse for some of us. Keep the
#irc style commands and don't force UI interactions/changes - allow options. -

@SlackHQ Can you please make the text only slash command an option in the configuration. I understand the lightning bolt thing could help some people but not everyone. Don't forget your longtime user: developers ;) thanks.

It looks like this was already partially fixed since I wrote the original tweet! Adding awareness about the shortcuts menu with new UI makes sense. However, the way it's done is still somewhat disruptive by moving the cursor around.

Ideally don't force replace written text or move the cursor, I don't want Clippy to command what I write :-)

Thanks Ian - we're taking a look at all of the feedback coming in to see what improvements we can make to this feature. At the moment, there isn't a way to turn it off.

I have a similar experience. For example, before: /status :emoji: status Now... - Update status may not even be the first selection so I may trigger another shortcut - Can't enter the emoji easily in status dialog - Try to tab / fumble around status menu
