@SlackHQ On Windows 10, the Slack taskbar icon no longer shows me when I have new, unread messages in an unmuted channel (the tray icon still shows the little blue dot, though). Any chance you could add that back in? Maybe make it a user preference?

Hey there David, if you right click the taskbar > Taskbar settings, is 'Use small taskbar buttons' on? Or is 'Show badges of taskbar buttons' off? Either of those would cause the badge to not show on the taskbar icon.

'Use small taskbar buttons' is Off, 'Show badges on taskbar buttons' is On. Haven't changed any settings there recently. A friend of mine also reports the same issue

Thanks for checking. Just to confirm, the badges seem to be missing for messages where you'd explicitly expect them? For example, @-channel mentions or direct messages.

Haven't tested those specifically. I'm just talking about when there's a new message in a channel that I don't have muted. It's not actually a badge that's missing, it's the taskbar button title that doesn't change anymore. I can't remember what it used to do. Maybe an asterisk?

Ah, right — we're with you now. Could we trouble you for a screenshot that shows us what your taskbar button looks like now? If you'd prefer, you're welcome to send it through via feedback@slack.com.
