Hi Brian! Great Q. The algorithm would be based on the frequency and recency of the emoji you've used. As well, it's possible there is an alias for :joy: that includes the word face.

I figured that was prob the case for the algorithm. However, now I have to post a ton of facepalms to get it back to the default over joy. That makes no sense to me to put a totally different emoji over the most common that actually matches what I typed.
