Hey @SlackHQ!
I work with a team in a different time zone, so I often see a Slackbot msg:
"[username] has paused their notifications for a bit..."
I don't ever need to see this, particularly since I also see
"[username] has notifications turned off".
Can this be disabled?
Good question! The intention with the icon and the note in the DM is to tell you at a glance from wherever you interact with them that the person has notifications paused and may not be available. The Slackbot message would allows users to push through a truly urgent message.

Thanks for the explanation. By "push through a truly urgent message", I guess you mean the user receives a notification? Activating do not disturb doesn't suspend message delivery, right?
-
You're exactly right! The message will still deliver when Do Not Disturb is enabled, and pushing through a message sends a visual/audio notification to the user in question.

icon next to the username, "[username] has notifications turned off" at the bottom of the DMs, and the Slackbot message. It's overkill IMO, and fills the chat with needless repetitive msgs.
