@SlackHQ What have you done to Slash commands and can it be reversed? I want to be able to type my own command not to use shortcuts. You've added 3 extra steps. /app pleasehelppic.twitter.com/qURAAHkiOS

Thanks for the candid feedback, Sam. The command should still work as is but we can certainly pass on the feedback on the modal itself.
But it no longer works as before: previously I would get a drop-down with all the people in the organisation called bob, select the one I wanted and carry on with my message. Now I can't figure out how to do that anymore.
Thanks for bringing that to our attention so we can think on it for future improvements! While it's not a perfect workaround, you can always try "/msg" > Enter > then type Bob, and the list will come up. We appreciate you bearing with us, and sharing your feedback.
I agree- this destroys my use of dm as a quick an efficient way of moving between individuals, ad-hoc message groups (which you had already damaged by limiting the ability to rediscover recent communications groups), and channels. You tried to merge discoverability and usability.
2/2 and usability lost out.
Fair feedback. Thanks for sharing — it helps make Slack better. We'll look into it.
