@SlackHQ why with the favicon change. I've been missing messages all day in channels I don't have notifications set for.
Just for a fresh coat of paint. Plus, we figured it would help make new incoming messages more obvious. Is it no longer working as it's supposed to for you? Or is the notification issue you describe separate from the favicon/tab changes?

It's the favicon change. I have a dark OS theme, the white circle background is significantly less noticeable than the white icon was because I have other tabs open with white circles. I can't enable notifications for that channel because people are in other time zones.

This would also be solved by allowing per-channel notification time frames; for instance, pushing notifications for all new messages in the
