Are you experiencing this every time you open Slack, or only after quitting and relaunching the app or restarting your device?

Every time I open Slack. It defaults to the channel list, and I'd rather it default open to the last used channel.

Hmm! Tap on the 'You' icon on the navigation bar, then Preferences > Advanced > Reset cache. Does that change anything?

No change. The app *works*, the latest update is an unwelcomed change in how the thing opens. The updated design adds at least one extra tap/swipe every time I open the app. I'd really like the old option back.

We're sorry for the hassle, Matt. From our tests, the last visited channel or DM does remain open after navigating out of Slack, as long as Slack isn't shut down. It sounds like you may be seeing a bug, so we'd like to grab some app logs from you through feedback@slack.com.

Why is it by design supposed to return to the channel list if Slack is shut down? This simply worked in the previous version.

Just to confirm, by shut down, you are swiping up to close the app completely? If so, this is expected and we will definitely share your feedback on this! As noted, if you navigate away from the app and reopen it though you should remain in the same channel or DM.

I always close apps and remove them from background apps running, so yes, that's the case. Any chances to get the old behavior back?
