@SlackHQ why is /me still not supported in threads? /me wants to know.
Our sincerest apologies Alex! /me is one of several slash commands that don't work in threads, so for now you'll have to use underscores for all your in-thread italicizing needs.

We didn't used to support any slash commands in threads, but now that we do, we still have to build out support for each command manually to get it to work. "/me" hasn't been prioritized up to this point, because we're focused on other areas! Sorry to disappoint.
