I really miss the simplified @SlackHQ sidebar. It’s become so bloated recently and is harder to scan. I wish there was an option to turn off the profile pictures 
Sorry to hear you're not loving the new sidebar, Stu! It's not currently possible to toggle the profile pictures off, but we'll be sure to make a note that you'd like to see this in the future.

All I’d add is I know what my colleagues look like and I value their online and slack statuses more then a pretty picture
