That's not on our roadmap but we definitely appreciate the suggestion, Callum! At the moment, the quickest way to edit a message is to use the keyboard arrows to focus on it and press 'E'.

yeah that actually isn’t quicker, it doesn’t always pick up keyboard focus..

If focus is in the message input box to begin with, it should, with the right settings! You'll need to check Preferences > Accessibility > under "Press in the empty message field to", select "Move focus to the message list". Let us know if that doesn't do the trick.
