I hate link previews on Slack. They hide my actual message. I know there’s a setting that you can use to permanently hide them, but it doesn’t across all their apps (iPad, phone and desktop).

The x icon isn't available on Android and iPad apps. And the permanent setting - even if it's set to hide previews - isn't considered when links are shared via Android or iOS apps

Certainly room to improve that for the mobile experience. You are correct that the preview preferences only apply on the desktop experience but we'll have a think on improvements that we can make there.
