@SlackHQ I start hating your private channels! Once I leave a private channel, I'm unable to search/find information which was shared with me in that channel. And I'm not able to rejoin that channel either -> Information is lost for me forever. Is that intentionally? Hope not.

Sorry to hear that! Afraid, it is intentional. If you are not a member of a private channel, the channel and it's contents remain obscured. You can mute channel notifications if that's the reason you're leaving and you can get invited back to those channels anytime!

I actually quit a lot of private channels because they were temporary discussions and cluttering my sidebar. Muting != hiding I'm afraid. But maybe that's a feature request to be able to hide muted channels?!

Muting greys it out, but doesn't hide it. We have a couple of options for it (Preferences > Sidebar), but not one that hides muted channels only. We understand the reasoning here though – especially for muted Private Channels – and will pass it along to the team for you!
