Bit of @SlackHQ frustration: if you open a new direct msg w/someone, realise for whatever reason u no longer need to msg them, there's no way to close that window. This "draft" sits in the 'drafts' tab & only way to close this window is to go to the 'drafts' tab & delete it 
Hey, Aaina! If you open the message through the 'CMD/CTRL+K' shortcut, but then navigate away from the message, we won't save any draft. Hope that helps!
