@SlackHQ if you could post an update to the insert/overwrite text field bug on your status page, I'd really love to know when its fixed.

In the text box, when I move my cursor to entered text(keyboard or mouse), the cursor becomes the selection of a single character, and text entry is in overwrite mode, not insert. Only in slack, no other application. Tried refreshing, been happening for almost a week now.
Thanks for the additional details! This is indeed a known bug which we're working on and we'll update you here once it's fixed. 
In the meantime, clearing your cache should help. If you're on the desktop app, head to Help > Troubleshooting > Clear Cache and Restart.
