@SlackHQ you guys need to do a better job with the over write function. Who actually uses this for what? Why can't it be easily turned off? SO ANNOYING.

Hey, this overwrite feature is really annoying. I'm on windows how do i turn it off??? Having insert happen when editing just for slack is so irritating.
We're sorry for the trouble with overwrite mode. Are you using a Windows keyboard? If so, does pressing the Insert key allow you to turn it off? How about refreshing the app (Ctrl + R)?
Sorry about that! We'll share this with our team so we can think on it moving forward. We don't have a way to permanently disable overwrite mode in Slack — the Insert key is the only option for now.

I am experiencing it in Windows as well and both the insert key and the refresh key are not working. I am officially Cutting around my edit to paste my words after the edit. It's dirty but it works
