Yo @SlackHQ - is there a way to disable the copy/paste behavior that comes with formatting? It's really never what I want.

The second example is especially annoying. If I copy stuff from my IDE, if I want formatting at all, I usually want `this` and not ``` this ```

Thanks so much for this. It looks like you may already be aware of this but does using Ctrl+Shift+V (Windows/Linux) or Option+Shift+⌘+V (macOS) paste as plain text for you?

You're welcome. And yes, yes, it does. But given that my muscle memory for these actions is older than the concept of blogging, the idea of relearning keyboard shortcuts just for Slack doesn't really spark joy.
