Dear @SlackHQ , for the love of god, implement something so that one person's DMs don't pop up a notification every 10 seconds if they insist on sending a stream of consciousness to me.

No, that puts the burden on me to actively stop the notifications and then to remember to check back in and switch them back on later.
it might be helpful to mute your DM conversation with that person. You can do this by opening the DM, clicking the i at the top right > More > Mute conversation. This will mute notifications for that conversation:Thanks for the feedback! Ideally you'd like to not be notified of new messages from a member if those messages come close enough together in frequency?

Exactly. If I already had a notification a few seconds ago, I don't need another one. Some sort of rate limit would be good.
