You should see a filled circle on the bottom right corner of the icon if the person is active. It will be hollow if they are away. Nonetheless, we'll share your feedback with the team. Thank you for being candid with us.

Do you know how small that circle is now? It’s so hard to see it on high resolution setups. It was great before today’s change.
