Initail broadcast data from the flight showed it climbed to 5000 feet then got no higher as airspeed stuck at 300 knots for a long time before a catastrophice rapid descent before data stopped.

@SkyNewsBreak really mean or are trying to say but not actually saying very well was the aircraft had an airspeed indicator problem (according to the tech-log circulating the internet) the day before. -
And erroneous altitude indication too

does the graph on Flightradar24 come from inferences that the radar works out from positioning or is it transmitted from the aircraft

From the aircraft... so if aircraft producing wrong data to the crew it is providing that same wrong data to all flight-tracking apps

Betting the pitot(s) played a role. Those instruments are just too sensitive

Every aircraft type in the world uses them. There's a lot of other things that could have caused an accident, random speculation doesn't help
