The system works across the water: - Students enter their ranked list onto online system - Students do exams - Universities offer places to students according to grades grades and preferences. If a student doesn't get their 1st choice, they may get their 2nd choice etc.

So adjudication should be immediate following final examination?

Aren't most university offers 'conditional' until the grades come out? I wasn't predicted to get As at A-Level but one of the offers I had was conditional on getting them.

This is a brilliant policy. Unconditional offers ruin the will to learn, demotivating students and affect their final grades. Should absolutely be banned

Predicted grades are often far off the mark of what students actually achieve aswell, kids change, and predicted grades are used for years after they are actually relevant and are based on primary school achievement! I have known predicted grades to be wildly lower, and higher!
