The devs have said that its phased - you'll only see it after you've played it through on the char
Warcraft friends, has it been announced yet when the Teldrassil starting zone will attacked/destroyed? After, will it still be the night elf starting zone with altered landscape? Or, will the destruction 'phase-in' after the starting experience is complete? Thx!

The destruction will `phase-in` IIRC from one of the Blizzcon panels. You can still create a NE, do all the starting zone quests, and once you hit that moment in the story `we will burn it down` (actual quote from the panel).

I am very glad the original zone experience will remain... and not questing through a burning forest-fire of hot tub type moonwells everywhere. Thanks!

It will phase in once you complete Legion content and move to Battle for Azeroth content.

I guess it's so. From what
@DTurley described, it'll phase in after an event. The original starting zone/questing experience will not change, however.
