Crafting narrative is one of my passions, so when I see people spending a lot of time and effort defending one that they made up in their heads while ignoring the actual narrative that's existed in story for several years now baffles me. I don't know what to do or say to them.
Unsure how to classify what you are describing, but situations where a person's expected outcome isn't fulfilled, may lead to disappointment. This can be ok normally, however its unnerving when people vent their unfiltered hate directly at creators via the net. Very sad pattern.
Whether it's a novel storyline, the latest star wars episode plot, or the recent reactions we witnessed made directly to a wonderful wow lore/author, it's a pattern that isn't healthy.
