They clearly are and are just trying to placate upset fanboys until they drop the hammer.
Better to rip off the band-aid now if they keep going, "Nah we wont do that". I'd prefer they make it perfectly clear Sylvanas wont do that or will do that than dodging it.

They can't do that until people have spent the money on the expansion and have played through 8.1, 8.2 and 8.3.

Funny how they didn't even try to make Garrosh look redeemable once they announced he'd be the end boss of MoP. I don't think Sylvanas will be the end boss persay, but I don't like the direction she's going.
