I think they just wanted to tick off the Horde and/or wanted Varok as a new potential character. I mean, let's be real Saurfang is a fantastic and awesome character.

He is and I reckon Saurfang is playing a smart game, but giving brown orcs to the alliance would have caused the biggest rage quit in the playerbase I swear. Looking forwards to your Saurfang speculation!
