Despite Shadowlands having more pre-orders and MAU's than any other WoW expac in history, it also feels like it's had the sharpest and fastest drop off and decline in players in the entire game's lifespan as well. The amount of guilds that died, players quitting, it's insane.
This is the first expansion that has ever made me disinterested in playing WoW ever. I still play but it's not as much as past expansions even WoD and BfA I played those weekly.
I barely log in because there's no point. The game is unrewarding and in massive need of an overhaul of core systems. Shadowlands as a setting just doesn't mesh well with me at all. It's far too rule-of-cool and a place we really should never have gone to. I'm just tired.
I really wished we had gotten Black Empire or Dragon Isles as the current expansion instead. I definitely feel the same way in regards to it just not meshing well with what I like. I already miss Azeroth and want to go back.
I was more interesting in see, after exhausting all the Warcraft lore villains, what they would do. I did not expect basically "recycling" a lot of them back in using the afterlife.
None of the Villains of old outside of Kel'thuzad has returned back yet though.
