I'd rather Yrel remain in lore limbo on AU Draenor then show up and die as a dungeon or raid boss.

I liked playing both sides in Cataclysm's war stories because you saw two sides to the same story. In BfA, I saw two stories that repeatedly contradicted each other.
I played both stories and they really didn't contradict what was happening on either side. Closest that I can recall that sort of did that was the Dazar'alor Raid but that was done on purpose to show that our factions have biases and tell a different tale.

Offhand, I know there's the Grong story, and the War of Thorns was notorious for having different versions of events. @/TheRedShirtGuy even did a post to Blizzard asking about how they weren't reconcilable.
