I don't think Xal'atath is our ally either though. I ultimately think she knew that N'zoth (like her brothers) would fall. Considering we fully don't know what Xal'atath is it's hard to say but my bet is she's the Old God who's going to be the one to try and take Azeroth.
I'm still betting on Azshara and Xal'atath being the primary antagonists of the Void outside of the Void Lords themselves. Unless Azshara is done with the Void and is going onto some form of bigger fish. Pun fully intended.
