The major thing I hope for going into the next expansion is they don't focus on the next "Cosmic Force" immediately after Shadowlands. Like a Cataclysm 2.0. - Dragon Themed - Wrathion as the Main Guide - New World Revamp to old zones - New Class Combinations - New Races - New Customization - Old foes return Cataclysm was already a decade ago it's time we give a nice but proper nod to it.
I feel kinda bad because I'm more excited for the next expansion than the current one but that could just be due to my own impatience and other things.

I think they did say they wanted to address that in Shadowlands. So hopefully they actually commit to that.
Honestly if you ask me the next expansion shouldn't absolutely have a villain. Vanilla didn't and nobody really complained. An old world revamp is overdue. Furthermore I think it is time Blizz started outright deleting some expacs and revamped others into the leveling experience.

Agreed. I really wanted to get my character into Shadowlands but the story is so ... I dunno, the scale is just hard to wrap your head around? It's hard to see where any old adventurer fits in.
