There are a decent number where it plays out as a normal world quest but then they make it take even longer by having a final step where after doing things that normally would constitute any other normal world quest, they force you to fight ANOTHER boss or do something else.
I really don't like the World Quests in Shadowlands. At least in Legion and BfA you'd be done with them super quickly. Shadowlands for whatever reason makes them tedious and long.
As I said, I think probably ~60% of them are totally fine, and probably the best there ever were. The best comparison I can make is most of the ones that are just "kill 3 different things" play out like Legion invasions where they force an extra step at the end to take longer.
BUT basically every world quest where you commandeer a vehicle to do something are really fun, at least to me. I also really like the flying tests in Bastion, as well as the Flappy Bird clone, and essentially every non-combat world quest have yet to annoy me.
