What is this for a shit take? The main complaint about Retail WoW is, it grew to far away from what classic was. The success of Classic showed, people liked the old desgin. Every attempt of modify and to change this old rule got hammered down with complaints
As someone who tried Classic WoW and didn't like it I honestly wish they would keep away from Classic as much as possible. Classic should remain Classic. And Retail should remain Retail that's just how it should be.

Oh, I really wished they would develop the game further from Classic as good as possible and actually bring in new features. However, Shadowlands is a huge callback to classic, in terms of gameplay and design. If you compare it to legion as an example.
