To be somewhat fair to those people, the actual developers seemed to have forgotten who Kael'thas originally was and are just using the ridiculously awful (and magically corrupted) version of him for BC as the template for his Shadowlands portrayal.
I'm not saying people are wrong for being upset at his potrayal. But to outright ignore his TBC counterpart and say that lore never happened is ridiculous. And that's coming from someone who dislikes TBC's narrative completely.
The only way his portrayal even makes sense is to know that they're using the godawful BC version of it as the template for his shitty SL version we got.
