if illidan respected kael'thas even remotely or ever actually tried to empathize instead of being like "oh yeah youre a magic addict like me, go get a bunch of your guys to die for me and ill show you how to avoid that"
I think Illidan realized the type of person Kael'thas was or might've been or just didn't trust him at all. In an ironic sense, it's that lack of trust or faith he had in others that drove Kael into being morphed into one of K'J's allies sadly.

I mean, Kael’thas “really is” a person who deeply cares about everyone and is trying to make things right despite everyone killing him. even if he can’t admit he’s wrong he’s trying to help, and he’s young and stupid and wants power too, but illidan is and was EXACTLY the same.

Illidan who slaughtered all of moonguard to empower himself, etc, has zero business being like “kael is kind of sus” like you are the SAME guy
