Maybe it's because I'm not the biggest Blood Elf or Kael fan but am I the only one not bothered -that- much by his portrayal? In Revendreth you're not exactly supposed to be at your best especially at the start of your journey else-wise why would you even be there?

This isn't to say they're doing him completely right either. All I am saying is he isn't supposed to be his best self in Revendreth as that's for later. I'm also only speaking on behalf of what I've seen so far from the Maldraxxus Campaign too so I might've missed something.

If I had to compare the two Kael'thas' in Shadowlands to TBC is at least he is bound to grow and change back into the character we know and love over time. While Kael'thas was a villain in TBC with no sign of changing at all.

Cause its kind of trying to imply he was always like that. That the Kael after Tempest Keep is just... How he is. Shadowlands says Kael was always a power hungry maniac that didnt care about his people.

That's the part that is messy and that they got wrong then. What it should be is point out how he once was and what he's become.

Yeah its an easy fix. His sinstone says "INSTEAD of seeking a cure for his people, Kael'thas lead them into corruption for the sake of power." When it should be "WHILE seeking a cure for his people, Kael'thas lead them into corruption"

Issue is he didn't go to outland to find a cure. The sunwell was destroyed and as he said himself way back then, he went to outland for a new source of power He was not looking for a cure. He was looking for a stronger power for his people. As he was not sure the sunwell would-

Ever recover. So yes he was trying to help his people, but instead of trying to help those that remained survive, he tried to help those that followed him become even stronger.

?? He literally sent Rommath back to Silvermoon to relay his teachings. Kaels actions in Outland are all about finding a new source of magic for his people to survive on. They were bottling up netherstorm -for- this.

A new source of magic, not a cure. That is the difference.

The main thing here was Kael was -trying- to help but his methods weren't the best either. Which eventually led to creating problems down the line with other addictions outside of just arcane ones.
