Vashj is amazing but it would have been so great if she had a line that was like, "Illidan was a dumb bitch whose plan made no sense, I donno why I was following him on Outland."

I get you hate the guy but Vash'j clearly respected and possibly was even in love with the guy. Most you got is she's devoted to Azshara first and foremost over anyone else.

No she wasn't, we're directly told she's only following him because the Old Gods willed her and her Naga to in Chronicle. They even say that they're only using Illidan to kill the Lich King and if he became troublesome, they'll all turn on him and kill him.

I donno what fanon you were reading but there was never any suggestion anywhere at any point, ever, that she was 'in love with Illidan.'

I saw something passed "employee of the month" or his "Number 2" at least from her side of things. Illidan likely saw her as nothing more than a risky but loyal pawn. Regardless in Maldraxxus, her devotions are to Azshara, not the Old Gods or Illidan.

Yeah because her death freed her of the taint of the Old Gods. I'm not sure what that has to do with anything, though. Again I'm looking for literally anything from anywhere that suggested she loved him. She literally was just his majordomo until Kael'thas showed up.

I just got a vibe from them entirely in Warcraft 3 and TBC that Vash'j really liked Illidan. Whether that be romance or something else. We know from the start it was just out of orders from the Old Gods but it could've evolved over time to something else.

I guess it's more how I perceived the two over the past two decades than legitimate evidence or proof of the two "sharing a moment". Most of the credit was to her final TBC line which is debatable now on how credible it is due to the new lore.

Her final line seems to just be one that's in almost every major raid boss fight, "[Leader] I'm sorry I failed!"

I just found it suspicious that she called out his name of all things. I probably am overthinking it but then again I was a sucker for the two as a pair as a kid. That later evolved into Maiev and Illidan which I'm certain you're not a fan of that either.
